She looked back just once, a shy little smile as their eyes met. She rounded a corner and was gone, Ash let out a low sigh, not allowing himself the guilt of the confliction he felt, he just wanted to enjoy the moment. His bus journey home was uneventful, but having been fooled once when he first met Laura he made sure to wipe the lipstick mark off of his cheek, not fancying a repeat of the embarrassment of its late discovery.
As the day wore into evening more and more his thoughts turned to this internal enigma. Sat at his PC he reclined, the only light in the room the white hum from his monitor, he picked up his phone and stared at the black screen.
